More than 250 homes will be built, renovated and repaired in communities across the country this week, as thousands of professional homebuilders and suppliers partner with Habitat for Humanity in the 2018 Home Builders Blitz.
Novelis, a world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, this month pledged to donate $1 million to Habitat for Humanity in honor of the company’s 10th annual “Novelis Volunteer Month,” which takes place every October.
Austin-based furniture wholesaler will donate $100,000 to support Habitat’s mission of building homes, community and hope around the world.
Wesco’s contributions will support worldwide projects including Habitat’s Home Equals advocacy campaign, the funding of an energy-efficient home in Chiapas, Mexico, team builds in the U.S. and Canada and sponsorship of the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project.
Ahead of the 2024 G7 Summit, Habitat for Humanity International released an issue brief, Slum Blind: The overlooked links between climate migration and informal settlements. The brief focuses on the more than 215 million people who could be impacted by climate migration by 2050.
