I want to thank you President Carter for being an inspiration to all Americans. You will be missed but never forgotten. Our Country is in dire need of more politicians who put the needs of the American people over their personal gains. That put their personal gains aside, and truly serve us the American people. I hope I live to see the day when we will have more politicians who will emulate your character and dedication to our Country, and do it with the grace and humility that you have demonstrated in your lifetime. Rest in Peace.

Condolences to the family of President Jimmy Carter. As a teenager during his election, I began learning about elections, political parties, and views. Yet, the most profound lessons came after his presidency. His humanitarian work, especially with Habitat for Humanity, showcased the power of good deeds in changing lives. He led by example, teaching us the enduring value of service and compassion.

I was a member of the Albuquerque High School band. We were invited to play at a Jimmy Carter campaign rally on October 8, 1976. After making his speech he shook hands with people. A friend and got in line just as he was coming along shaking hands with everyone. I put my hand out and he shook my hand. I wanted to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for several years. The memorial service was a well deserved tribute to an outstanding Christian disciple . I first worked with Jimmy Carter at the first Carter Habitat build in Chicago where 70 workers build four homes in one week. The following year in Charlotte North Carolina where 20 homes were built. His inspiration moved me to help start and lead the beginning our Loveland affiliate in 1986. We invited Millard Fuller Habitat founder to attend. The rest is our history.

One of the greatest honors of my life was meeting Jimmy & Rosalyn at the 1993 JCWP site. With a small group of volunteers, I - as a Habitat staff member - created the Habitat 500 Bike Ride. 75 people raised $5,000 each & then rode bikes 500 miles from the Twin Cities to Winnipeg, where we donated 10% of what we raised to the JCWP. I presented that money to Jimmy on stage, with Millard Fuller.
