BOGOTÁ, Colombia (Sept. 26, 2012) – The Forum on Adequate Housing in Latin America and the Caribbean is under way this week where participants are in dialogue about how to help decrease the housing deficit throughout the region. The multisectorial event is focusing on practical and innovative solutions for providing vulnerable populations with access to adequate housing that is sustainable and inclusive within urban environments.

Among the event’s objectives is the positioning of housing issues as a key factor in the construction of 21st-century Latin American and Caribbean cities, learning new approaches to housing solutions and, ultimately, to contribute to UN-Habitat’s 2025 global housing strategy.
