Ann and Ted Dosch donate $1 million to Habitat for Humanity
Partnership will support Habitat for Humanity International and Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity
ATLANTA and CHICAGO (Feb. 6, 2017) — Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce a generous $1 million commitment by Ann and Ted Dosch to support Habitat’s mission to build a world where everyone lives in a decent, safe and affordable home. This is one of the largest gifts made by a couple to Habitat for Humanity in the Chicago region.
Ann and Ted have worked on Habitat homes on five different continents over two decades, serving as passionate advocates for affordable housing. Ted has held leadership roles on two Habitat boards – Habitat for Humanity International and Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity. He has been instrumental in establishing corporate partnerships with Whirlpool and Anixter International, helping raise millions of dollars, on top of their personal giving. “To build side by side with future Habitat homeowners – to see how hard they work to have a better life for their children – it’s had a tremendous impact on me, my wife and our family,” he said. “That’s why Habitat has become such a passion of ours.”
Ann and Ted’s commitment will be split evenly between Habitat for Humanity International’s Global Impact Fund and Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity. In the Chicago region, these funds will support affiliate growth, leadership development efforts, and raising awareness of Habitat and the importance of affordable housing in the region.
“Support of the Global Impact Fund will help Habitat for Humanity empower more individuals in need of decent homes worldwide to build strength, stability and self-reliance through improved shelter,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “We greatly appreciate the time, leadership and financial contributions Ann and Ted have dedicated to Habitat’s work over the years.”
