Granite Construction announces new partnership with Habitat for Humanity
ATLANTA (Feb. 4, 2020) — Granite Construction announces its partnership with Habitat for Humanity International with a significant commitment in 2020. The partnership will bring Granite employee volunteers to build alongside future Habitat homeowners to help make an affordable home possible for many families across the country.
“We are grateful to have Granite as a new corporate partner,” said Julie Laird Davis, vice president of corporate partnerships and cause marketing at Habitat for Humanity International. “They are actively supporting our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to call home.”
Granite’s donation and Habitat’s nationwide network will ensure that Habitat homeowners are able to achieve the strength and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves and their families. The company’s employee volunteers will be able to present a well-informed perspective on all aspects of the construction process when they partner with Habitat homeowners on building homes.
“We could not be happier about this partnership with Habitat for Humanity,” said Phil DeCocco, senior vice president of human resources at Granite. “We foster a culture that supports and encourages our people to make a lasting difference in the places in which we live and work across the country.”
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
