Uponor partners with Habitat for Humanity to equip Habitat homes across the U.S. with plumbing products essential to a safe and sustainable environment

ATLANTA (Jan. 21, 2020) — Uponor, a global provider of high-quality plumbing, indoor climate and infrastructure solutions, is one of Habitat for Humanity International’s newest corporate partners, donating and installing piping and plumbing packages in new Habitat homes across North America.

Each plumbing package, valued at over $1,600, includes piping and connections for appliances such as sinks, showers, washing machines and outdoor hoses. The donated products are made from flexible materials designed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations—an important factor in Habitat homes across the country in varying climates.

“Habitat helps homeowners build structures that stand strong against the elements, with minimal unexpected maintenance costs,” said Julie Davis, vice president, corporate partnerships and cause marketing at Habitat for Humanity International. “Partners like Uponor fill a crucial need for quality plumbing products that help make Habitat homes safe and sustainable.”

As part of its support for Habitat, Uponor recently donated 50 plumbing packages to communities in Florida to help with Hurricane Maria recovery efforts, along with donating 800,000 feet of pipe to Habitat for Humanity Kansas City’s ReStore facility.

“This corporate partnership demonstrates Uponor’s and Habitat’s shared focus on enriching lives, ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of clean water for families in newly-built homes, and providing homeowners with the most sustainable living environments possible,” said Bill Gray, president of Uponor North America.

About Habitat for Humanity

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home.
