Join us for one week on our Leadership Build!

Through the Leadership Build initiative, MVHFH invites local leaders and organizations to collaborate in building and funding a home for a low-to moderate-income family.  Leadership Build fosters collaboration among diverse leaders, uniting individuals and organizations from business, education, and community groups to create meaningful change through servant leadership. Volunteers work side by side, learning from one another, while also helping families like Jocelyn’s achieve homeownership. Leaders from diverse backgrounds participate in volunteer build days, emphasizing service and unity. This initiative builds not only homes but also fellowship between business and community leaders in the shared mission to create affordable homeownership, community, and hope.

In October 2022, Jocelyn was approved for MVHFH’s Homeownership Program. In 2021, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and found out she was pregnant. She had emergency brain surgery and was in and out of rehab and the hospital until her son was born.  During this time, she lost her job, her rental house and had to learn to walk, talk and eat again. When Jocelyn applied for the Homeownership Program, she was living with her sister and sleeping on the couch with her three children.  To Jocelyn, owning a home means the opportunity to help her get back on her feet and provide a place for her children to call home. The Leadership Build initiative is key to helping her achieve her dream of owning a home and providing a safe space for her family.
