Habitat affiliates in Florida are working closely with partner organizations to gather emergency supplies, such as bottled water, non-perishable food, baby food and diapers, to deliver to individuals and families in affected areas as soon as it is safe to enter.

Previous experience has demonstrated that recovery from a major storm like Hurricane Ian can take many years. Habitat for Humanity’s post-disaster recovery efforts will focus on meeting the long-term housing needs of disaster-affected areas, primarily by repairing damaged homes and building  affordable, disaster-resistant homes.

Habitat’s work in communities depends on support from donors, volunteers and other community organizations.
