As part of our innovative Aging in Place strategies, Habitat for Humanity implemented the CAPABLE model across five Habitat affiliates. This model is an evidence-based approach developed by researchers from Johns Hopkins University to help holistically address older adults’ needs.

Each year since 2007, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree on display in New York City is milled and donated to Habitat to use in construction projects. Lumber from the 2022 tree was used to build a deck and planter boxes at Sarah’s Habitat home in Corinth, New York.
Since 1984, President and Mrs. Carter have been champions and groudbreaking voices for affordable, decent housing for all, donating their time and leadership each year to build and improve homes through Habitat’s Carter Work Project.
Habitat for Humanity’s long-term impact on communities is on full display in Oak Cliff Gardens, a neighborhood of 400 homes in the larger area of East Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas.
Each donation given by UL employees through our internal giving site will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Underwriters Laboratories.
