Among the Carter Work Project 2024 volunteers were current Twin Cities Habitat homeowners, who understand firsthand the challenges of unstable housing. This year, they’re excited to continue to give back and help their future neighbors build homes, community and hope in St. Paul, Minnesota.
For over 30 years, former first lady Rosalynn Carter dedicated her voice, time and energy to building and advocating for affordable housing alongside Habitat. She once sat down with us to share why the mission of a decent, affordable home kept her coming back year after year.
The lives of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter have intertwined with those of Peter and Kathryn Kim in extraordinary ways, from their mutual dedication to Habitat to Peter’s hand in helping bring a happy end to President Carter’s cancer journey.
