An increasing number of families across the U.S. face challenges in finding decent and affordable housing and policymakers across the country are debating how best to provide housing solutions that work for families of all income levels that support the recovery and resilience of local economies.

These two new reports examine the need and propose solutions for encouraging the incremental adaptation of housing in informal settlements using sustainable building practices, as well as avenues for overcoming investment barriers and how to attract more climate tech investors in the sheltertech sector.
With support from the Hilti Foundation, Habitat for Humanity’s Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter is working to expand low-income families’ access to innovative housing products, services and financing through market-based solutions.
Through the ongoing partnership, Schneider Electric is continuing to provide electrical equipment for Habitat homes across North America, renewing their commitment to making affordable housing more accessible, sustainable and energy-efficient.
