Ply Gem continues support of Habitat in 2019 marking over $2.3 million in donated home exterior building products
Since 2016, Ply Gem has helped make affordable homeownership a reality for hundreds of Habitat families nationwide
ATLANTA (March 6, 2019) – Habitat for Humanity marks its fourth year of partnership with Ply Gem Building Products in 2019. The company’s donation of windows, vinyl siding and exterior home accessories has helped families across the U.S. fulfill their dream of owning a decent and affordable Habitat home.
“By donating the quality products we manufacture like windows and vinyl siding to Habitat for Humanity we’ve helped to build nearly 500 homes in 90 neighborhoods,” said Jim Metcalf, the company’s Chairman and CEO. “We are committed to helping to make homeownership a reality for those in need of affordable housing and we are passionate about contributing to communities where people live, work and play.”
Since 2016, Ply Gem through its Home for Good project has provided a total donation, in value, of more than $2.3 million of exterior building products and funds to support Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to call home. As part of the Home for Good project, Ply Gem is the Silver Sponsor of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz where thousands of professional homebuilders, manufacturers and suppliers, such as Ply Gem, will build, renovate or repair homes in communities across the country. Through Home Builders Blitz, Ply Gem’s support has helped hundreds of Habitat homeowners and their families.
“Partners like Ply Gem who continue to dedicate their passion and drive to help families in need of affordable housing is a constant reminder of the good in this world and how thankful we are for all the helping hands,” said Julie Davis, vice president, Corporate and Foundation Relations. “Ply Gem’s donation of siding, windows and homebuilding products will help increase our capacity to build decent and affordable homes. We’ll also be able to engage professional homebuilders to volunteer for this year’s Home Builders Blitz.”
This year, part of the Ply Gem $300,000 donation value of siding, windows and home building products will also go towards local Habitat organizations nationwide that support Veterans Build projects.
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
