Prologis celebrates its seventh global day of service with Habitat for Humanity

ATLANTA (May 17, 2019) Employees from Prologis, a global logistics real estate company, are volunteering today with Habitat for Humanity in celebration of Impact Day, the company’s seventh annual day of service.

More than one-third of Prologis employees in seven countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas will volunteer with Habitat in 16 communities to help families improve their living conditions through decent, affordable shelter.

“We are honored to be one of the organizations that Prologis has chosen to partner with for its Impact Day,” said Julie Laird Davis, vice president of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Habitat for Humanity International. “This gift of time and resources will help families secure a better future for themselves.”

Overall, nearly 1,600 Prologis team members will work with 49 organizations in 19 countries on projects that support education, human welfare and the environment, including reforestation in the Americas, food preparation for refugees in Europe and classroom renovation in Asia.

“For the third consecutive year, Prologis is thrilled to continue its global partnership with Habitat for Humanity and make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work,” said Jeannie Renne-Malone, vice president of environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance, Prologis. “Developing resilient buildings and giving back to our communities is at the heart of our ESG program, which aligns closely with Habitat’s vision that a strong and stable home can be a source of strength for families.”

Prologis owns, manages and develops properties in the world’s most vibrant centers of commerce. Every year on a Friday in May, the entire Prologis community spends a full day giving back, and throughout 2018, employees contributed over 10,000 volunteer hours to their local communities.

About Habitat for Humanity

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
