Habitat for Humanity this week began distributing hotel vouchers to families fleeing the violence in Ukraine as we ramp up our efforts to reduce the vulnerability of refugees and meet their shelter needs in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
From around the world, children share what their Habitat for Humanity homes mean to them through hand-drawn illustrations of family life and their unique neighborhoods.
When Rachel connected with Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno’s Aging in Place program, her decades-long hope of tackling the upkeep of her home became a reality.
The thoughts and prayers of the entire Habitat for Humanity family go out to President and Mrs. Carter as he begins his treatment.
“Taking a shower and having proper handrails in the tub. The handrail in the hallway for helping us steady ourselves,” Bryant says. “They’re little things, but they’re game-changers when you get older.”
With the help of volunteers and donors like you, we are able to provide shelter assistance, education, training and partnerships to the affected individuals who find themselves in unthinkable situations rebuilding after a disaster strikes.
Decisions to resume operations at Habitat affiliates will vary greatly based on the status of the pandemic in the communities we serve, directives from state and local governments, and the capacity of the affiliates to modify their operations in a way that prioritizes safety.
