Promote safer, greener construction practices and build 30 homes for displaced families in Nepal
Taking a step toward a greener future together, Macon Area Habitat and students from Mercer University’s engineering department worked with six homeowners to design and install solar photovoltaic systems on the roofs of their Habitat homes.
In the time since Hurricane Irma hit Florida in 2017, we have been hard at work helping families build or repair safe, affordable homes across the state in areas hit by the storm and providing disaster-related services to affected families as well.

Evan and Kitte pay an affordable mortgage for their rehabbed Habitat home in East Palo Alto, where they have put in a dozen raised beds teeming with vegetables and flowers.
“Taking a shower and having proper handrails in the tub. The handrail in the hallway for helping us steady ourselves,” Bryant says. “They’re little things, but they’re game-changers when you get older.”
