The Urban Instititute conducted interviews with stakeholders covering seven different policies that were supported directly or indirectly by Cost of Home. Participants shared background and details on the policies they supported as well as the impact of those policy changes on their communities.
The 2019 Carter Work Project headed to Tennessee where President and Mrs. Carter worked alongside future homeowners and volunteers to build 21 homes in Nashville.
From painting walls to framing houses, the Carters were always ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work alongside fellow volunteers. Journey through these memorable build site moments with two of Habitat’s greatest supporters and hands-on volunteers.
Because zoning restrictions and high land prices can make it prohibitively difficult to build or preserve affordable homes in opportunity-connected communities, we have focused on advocating for policies related to land acquisition, use and development.
