We accept almost all vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, farm equipment and construction equipment. If you wish to donate a unique vehicle of a different type, please begin by contacting us by phone.

Absolutely! Your vehicle does not need to be running in order to donate it. But, it does need to have all tires inflated so we can tow it away. 

Yes, towing and pick-up is completely free. 

In general, from the point of accepted submission, a donor should expect to be contacted by a tow driver within 1 to 3 business days. Donors will then coordinate a time that works best for their own schedule and that is mutually beneficial. 

Our partners at Advanced Remarketing Services return a higher percentage than any other vehicle processing entity. On a monthly basis, between 80% and 82% of the gross revenue generated from vehicle sales comes to Habitat for Humanity.

Yes! The money from the sale of your vehicle goes to the local Habitat in the service area you reside.

Here are some basic things you should be prepared to know and provide for the donation: 

• Valid vehicle title, free of liens
• Year, make and model
• VIN
• Body type
• Mileage
• Condition
• Date the vehicle was last driven

Advanced Remarketing Services, our authorized processing agent, will sell your vehicle on behalf of Habitat for Humanity through a national network of auctions and direct buyers.  

After your vehicle has been sold, you will receive an acknowledgement letter providing your vehicle’s sale information.  

All the auctions and direct buyers used by Habitat are licensed, insured and bonded in the states where they operate. By signing the title directly to Advanced Remarketing Services, you are legally transferring ownership of your vehicle to Habitat for Humanity. 

When your title is received and your vehicle is picked up, you are no longer responsible for the vehicle. 

When you donate a vehicle to Cars for Homes, it is assessed so it can be put to its best and highest use. About half of our cars are sold to licensed dealers at wholesale auctions and are reused for transportation. Some vehicles—particularly those at the end of their life—are directed to licensed auto recyclers, who carefully and responsibly recover usable materials in ways that help protect our planet. For those vehicles that are recycled, up to 86% of their materials can be reclaimed, reused, or recovered, reducing waste and conserving natural resources. 

Habitat receives funds for each donated vehicle, although a car sold at auction generally generates more revenue than one that is recycled. Every donation makes a difference and the families that partner with us are extremely grateful for your help.
