Digital Media and Marketing VISTA

For one year, get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands-on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.

AmeriCorps VISTA members are Volunteers in Service to America who perform indirect service to build capacity and sustainable solutions.

What will you do?

The marketing and communications VISTA member will support the Director of Communications and Marketing Associate with digital marketing tasks for Habitat Metro Denver and Metro Denver ReStores. The VISTA member will plan, write, capture, and schedule content for social media accounts for Habitat Metro Denver and the Habitat Metro Denver ReStores, in partnership with the marketing team to increase awareness of Habitat’s mission. Marketing content and plans will be well documented and evaluated to ensure sustainability beyond the year of service.

  • Research, develop and document a marketing and communications plan, including social media, e-mail, print materials, fundraising support, website management, local radio, and television.
  • Research, develop and implement systems to to accurately track and record marketing and communications plan-related data, ensuring sustainability.

This position will focus on brand management, virtual/digital systems and platforms aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

At the end of each day, AmeriCorps members can rest and relax in free 3-bedroom condos owned by Habitat Metro Denver. Each unit has private bedrooms, a full kitchen, outdoor space and designated parking.   • Unique projects: Habitat Metro Denver will be engaged in a variety of construction, home repair, and ReStore projects during this VISTA’s term. This VISTA will have the opportunity to capture communications content to support single-family affordable homeownership opportunities, home repair and preservation projects, and new sales strategies at the Denver-area Habitat ReStores.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens or is a person residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status. Applicants must be at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
