The lack of affordable housing across the U.S. continues to threaten the livelihoods of essential workers. Habitat for Humanity Roaring Fork Valley and partners created Basalt Vista, a sustainable housing development to help 27 families stay and continue serving the community.

David wanted nothing more than to provide a safe and decent home for his young son and daughter. Now, with the support of Habitat and the Wells Fargo Foundation, his family lives in an affordable home where they can thrive.

“No matter where my kids go, when we talk about home, everybody’s heart is here,” says Peggy, a disabled U.S. Air Force veteran who was able to repair her family home with the support of Habitat and The Home Depot Foundation.

Leading experts, international organizations, over 100 governments and more gathered in Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum’s 2024 annual meeting this January. Habitat CEO Jonathan Reckford attended to give affordable housing a seat at the table.
