“Apana Shochalaya” or our toilets: Provide inclusive sanitation facilities for eleven schools

While Habitat already works in the Indian states of Maharashtra, Odisha and Tamil Nadu, this project would support the building of more proper sanitation units with toilets, water tanks and handwashing stations.

The 39th annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project took place October 26–31, 2025, led by Austin Habitat for Humanity. Hundreds of volunteers came together to build 25 affordable, energy-efficient homes in Whisper Valley, a sustainable community in East Austin. Building a thriving neighborhood where a segregation-era school once stood

Carter Work Project volunteers lend a hand to the Charlotte community’s work building a thriving neighborhood at the historic site where an all-Black, segregation-era school called Plato Price stood. The once-empty lot is being transformed into an affordable, vibrant neighborhood with single-family homes, walking paths, nature areas and a community meeting space.
