Carter Work Projects through the years

Since 1984, President and Mrs. Carter have been building and advocating for affordable housing alongside Habitat for Humanity for over 30 years. Journey through the incredible legacy of Carter Work Projects!

Foundation for a better future

Mirosław, a potato farmer in a village in central Poland, and his wife, Agata, longed for their children to have space of their own. That goal drove them to build something new with Habitat Poland and Global Village volunteers.

Aging in Place impact

By partnering with Habitat’s Aging in Place program, older adults across the U.S. are able to access the resources they need to age in their homes, while maintaining both their independence and quality of life. The results are happier, healthier older adults – just take a look at some of the stories they’ve shared with us.

Planting the mustard seed

In the midst of grief, one family began a journey to healing by serving with Habitat. Donating their family car to the Cars for Homes program is their latest step.

Shelter leads to success

Young people who have aged out of the foster care system need a place to call home as they work to successfully transition into adulthood. With that in mind, Habitat Poland launched an innovative project that it hopes can serve as a model for the rest of the country.
