Today, Wells Fargo is donating $4.6 million through the 2025 Wells Fargo Builds program to support new home construction, renovation and repair to benefit more than 200 families in more than 130 communities across the U.S.

As homeownership remains out of reach for too many families, Wells Fargo announced an effort to support new home construction, renovation and repair of more than 350 affordable homes across the U.S. in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity International.

Mauk, Indonesia, is home to 90,000 people, with an average of four to five individuals per household. Around 35,000 live in extreme poverty. This project will help build decent, climate-resilient housing to help improve the lives of people living in extremely poor conditions. 

A reflection of the Huber Principles in action, the partnership is one component of the 135-year old, family-owned company’s commitment to donate 1 percent of its net income annually to nonprofit organizations.

The grant will fund home builds, critical home repairs, and help address the historic gaps in Black homeownership.

Puerto Rico native, rapper, producer and “Despacito” singer Daddy Yankee has pledged a personal donation of $250,000 and to raise an additional $1.5 million toward Habitat’s plans to help Puerto Ricans repair and rebuild in the aftermath of the storm.
