Carter Work Project 2019

The 36th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project took place in Nashville, Tennessee, where 21 families worked to build their Habitat homes alongside former President Jimmy Carter, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, as well as hundreds of other volunteers.

“Thank you, Habitat, for all youve done for this event  the countless hours of prep. Not only for the Carter Work Project, but for preparing us to be successful homeowners. It will not be wasted, homeowner Neil told an audience of fellow homeowners, volunteers, Habitat staff and event sponsors gathered at the Grand Ole Opry for the event’s closing ceremony. “We look forward to thriving for generations because of your investment.”

Our Better Angels, written by Habitat CEO Jonathan Reckford with a foreword by President Carter, is available now. The two sat down at the 2019 Carter Work Project to discuss the book and Habitat’s greater impact.
