Volunteer Services Coordinator

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
- Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday to support work on the build site.
- Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
- Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
- Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days – signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
- Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.
This position will focus on volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

- Activities and attractions: HFH of Kitsap County is near the city of Seattle, which boasts the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, museums, concerts, theater, professional sports, parks, shopping, restaurants, and more! Explore 3 National Parks: Olympic National Park, Mt. Rainier National Park, and North Cascades National Park. Additionally, explore countless state and local parks. Outdoorsy AmeriCorps members can walk the beaches of the Pacific Northwest or hike through mountains and forests to waterfalls. Discover hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, and paddle boarding through the summer, or try out downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing in the winter! There’s no end to what you may find serving with HFH of Kitsap County.
- Unique projects: The volunteer coordinator will have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele -- military groups, civic groups, corporate groups, faith groups, as well as court-ordered volunteers, retirees, and community member simply looking for a new purpose, hobby, or place to connect. The volunteer coordinator will learn how to engage with people of various backgrounds, ability levels, and interests and match them to the volunteer opportunity that is right for them.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
Pursuant to current Habitat for Humanity policy, this position requires full vaccination against COVID-19, except to the extent such requirement is prohibited by applicable law.
