Habitat for Humanity Great Britain was founded in January 1995 as a fundraising office to raise money and awareness for the global work of Habitat for Humanity. Based in Slough, near London, the national office works with individuals, corporate organisations, major donors, foundations, institutions and trusts. 

Zambia

Zambia is one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s most urbanized countries. The rural-urban migration is quite significant with the urbanization rate of change (4.35%) above the population growth rate (2.93%). The population distribution shows a high density in the central areas, particularly along the line of rail and mainly in Lusaka, Ndola, Kabwe and Mufulira, according to World Factbook 2017.

Egypt

Egypt is home to one of the world’s fastest-growing populations. With more than 60% of its population below the age of 30, its current housing shortage is expected to rise, especially for low-income groups. While the need continues to grow in rural and urban areas in the country, factors such as climate change, scarcity of resources and water shortage as well as private investor apathy, influence the supply and affordability of housing units.  

South Africa

Currently, South Africa is one of the world’s most unequal societies with approximately 12 million South Africans living in extreme poverty. 

Lebanon

Lebanon’s modern history is characterized by a climate of political and economic instability. Positioned as a haven for the displaced, it began welcoming Palestinian refugees in 1948. Today, it shelters a staggering 1.7 million refugees, including 1.5 million Syrians, making it the country with the highest refugee concentration per capita

Germany

Habitat for Humanity Germany began operations in 1998. The national office is based in Cologne. Habitat Germany has with 20 staff members and a five-person board of directors.Its work primarily focuses on raising funds for the international and local projects of Habitat for Humanity.

Since 1994, our work in Northern Ireland has focused on reconciliation and building strong, vibrant communities in which everyone can reach their full potential.
