The 39th annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project took place October 26–31, 2025, led by Austin Habitat for Humanity. Hundreds of volunteers came together to build 25 affordable, energy-efficient homes in Whisper Valley, a sustainable community in East Austin. When you co-fund a project, you help transform lives. By building housing, we build beyond the physical homes: adequate living conditions have a powerful impact on the livelihoods, health, education and more of households and communities.
The 2018 Carter Work Project headed to Indiana where President and Mrs. Carter worked alongside future homeowners and volunteers to build or improve 41 homes in Mishawaka and South Bend.
In October 2013, the Carter Work Project improved homes and communities in California, Colorado, New York and New Jersey.
Among the Carter Work Project 2024 volunteers were current Twin Cities Habitat homeowners, who understand firsthand the challenges of unstable housing. This year, they’re excited to continue to give back and help their future neighbors build homes, community and hope in St. Paul, Minnesota.
