DIY expert and mom Theresa Clement worked with her son to transform upcycled tiles she found at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore into a brand new accessory for their porch – a tiled doormat!

In 1996, Maria applied to Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership program in the hopes of providing a safe and stable home for her five children. Now 25 years later, she and her friends celebrated her final mortgage payment, and in Habitat tradition, they burned the mortgage papers she signed all those years ago.
Becoming a Habitat homeowner means the world to Alondra, especially now that her children have a safe place to play and build lasting memories.
Now that they’ve built their “forever home” with Habitat, Cynthia and Valdemar are focused on building a safe, loving community where their sons can have a bright future.
