Finding a decent, affordable place to call home was an ongoing challenge for Donyelle, a public school employee for 38 years. “We were really in need of better housing,” Donyelle says.
During the Carter Work Project, Roger and Ruth MacFarlane and their family will be on the build site, hammers in hand, working alongside future Habitat homeowners.
The news was shared with a ceremonial passing of the hammer between Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region and Twin Cities Habitat during the closing ceremony of this year’s weeklong blitz build in Charlotte.
