The power of volunteering

On his first day as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, sometime in the mid-1980s, Cliff Popejoy, an air quality scientist, decided to give the electricians a hand. Tornadoes in Georgia, Hurricane Floyd in North Carolina and Hurricanes Mitch and Georges in Central America were some of the Disaster Response efforts we worked on from 1996 to 2000.
